Drones are Flying in Restricted Airspace over Airports

September 28th, 2022

Just last month, a drone came within 8 feet of a Delta flight landing at Orlando International Airport. A Southwest Airline pilot reported seeing the same drone. Airspace around airports is highly restricted, and yet drones are still being spotted at airports around the world. Whether these drone operators are malicious or careless, our national airspace is at risk from rogue drone activity. The impacts can range from the grounding of flights to potentially lethal results.

SkySafe Cloud provides airports with the real-time drone data and analytics they need. It can be the difference between waiting 33 hours for an all clear, like they did at Gatwick Airport in 2018, or a resolution in 15 minutes. Read the whitepaper Counter-drone Security for Airports to learn more.
